'Globosum' is a top-grafted selection that develops a dense, naturally spherical crown on a clear standard stem, reaching 4 to 6 metres in both height and spread at maturity. Growth is slow, and the symmetry of the crown is intrinsic to the graft rather than maintained by pruning, which gives it an unusually low intervention profile over the life of a planting scheme.

Within Spain the cultivar specifies without reservation across the cornisa cantábrica, the interior of Castilla y León, and the prepyrenean foothills, where cool summers and reliable winter rainfall match the species' native northern and central European envelope. Frost hardiness extends to roughly -30 °C, well below any minimum recorded on the peninsula. On the Mediterranean coast and across the southern meseta the tree remains usable but becomes irrigation-dependent through the dry summer, since heat and drought tolerance are only moderate at the species level.

Soil tolerance is broad. The parent species accepts well-drained loam, clay, and calcareous substrates, which makes the cultivar a workable choice on the alkaline soils common in central and eastern Spain, in contrast to other ornamental maples that struggle on lime. Urban pollution tolerance is high. Acer is listed among the Xylella fastidiosa host genera in Europe, although Norway maple itself is not among the species under acute pressure in current Spanish demarcations; coordination with the project's servicio de parques y jardines on host-status updates remains standard practice.

The round-crown habit reads as architectural rather than picturesque, which suits formal courtyards, patios with strong axial geometry, and repetitive parking-court grids better than naturalistic palettes. Branch structure stays clean and self-correcting, which suits multi-year specification cycles where formative pruning budgets are limited.
