About Acer campestre

Native across continental Europe including Germany itself, Acer campestre carries native-species status under the Bundesnaturschutzgesetz and is one of the few maples reliably hardy throughout the federal territory. Wood and young growth withstand approximately minus 29 degrees Celsius once established, comfortably covering the continental winter minima of Brandenburg, Saxony, and Bavaria as well as the milder Niederrheinische Bucht (Lower Rhine basin) and Oberrheingraben (Upper Rhine valley).

There is no northern or eastern limit of concern within Germany; the first three winters following transplant remain the standard establishment risk window for any specimen of this calibre.
